AIG maintains partner-level relationships with some of the world’s leading investment managers. We utilize externally managed funds to access co-investment opportunities—particularly in private equity and real estate—and to complement our internal portfolio by gaining exposure to non-core asset classes, including hedge funds and venture capital.

While active in our investments, AIG does not take an activist approach toward portfolio companies. We are purely financial investors who work collaboratively with management teams to create long-term value. We also cultivate strong relationships with co-investors and, where appropriate, may take a more involved role.
